How It Works
Plasma fibroblast is a skin rejuvenation treatment that's used to firm skin, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of acne scars, and diminish dark spots. During the treatment, a pen-like device converts electrical energy into an ionized gas. When this gas hits the skin, it creates heat energy that inflicts controlled microtrauma. This microtrauma causes the body to create new collagen to repair itself thus causing skin regeneration in those areas.
Treatment length and price vary significantly based on area of treatment. For pricing or to make an appointment please call our office.
Does it hurt?
Plasma Fibroblast is a non-surgical treatment with little to no discomfort. Topical anesthetic is used to numb the skin for about 40 minutes before we begin.
Are there any side effects?
Immediately after the Fibroblast procedure you may notice that your skin is red and slightly swollen. This is normal and should subside within 3-5 days. Some people may see a slight redness lingering from time of treatment up to 2 months (depending on part of body). During the procedure, small carbon crusts form on the skin. You should avoid the urge to touch these crusts post-procedure. You can expect them to last between 5-10 days (depending on the area of the body). The crusts naturally fall off as new skin rebuilds underneath the treated area. Some patients may experience a slight change in skin pigmentation. If you are prone to hyper-pigmentation or hypo-pigmentation please tell your provider.
How long does it last?
Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of plasma fibroblast are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further aging. However, the results you get should last you for many years. The positive effects of the treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, and continue over the next three months. Additionally, there are lifestyle factors that can prevent the result from lasting as long as it can, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and prolonged sun exposure etc.
Who Should NOT get Plasma Fibroblast?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have diabetic, have healing disorders, metal plates, pins or other implants in the treatment area. If you have a pacemaker or any other medical device with an electrical current in your body. if you suffer from cardio-vascular deficiencies including severe uncontrolled blood pressure. If you are prone to keloid scars or any skin disorders including active acne. If you suffer from auto-immune disease or other illnesses which affects the immune system. Malignancy and or chemotherapy in the past 3 years. Any person that has melasma or any hyper-pigmentation issues should discuss this with their provider. **Please discuss any concerns or questions before the procedure at your consultation.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies person to person and depends on the area and severity of the skin condition. Everyone will see significant results with just one treatment, but may have maximum results with 2-3 treatments. Treatments must be at least 12 weeks apart. People over the age of 30 take 12 full weeks for maximum healing due to skin cell turnover rate decreasing with age.
Skin Types 5 & 6 Need a Patch Test Performed 4 Weeks Prior to Appointment. * This is because of the high probability of hyper or hypo-pigmentation
