Fillings are used to replace decay and to restore cracks and chips within the teeth.
Crowns are used to cover a tooth. Crowns keep the integrity and strength of your original tooth so it will not break down further. Crowns are typically used on teeth that have large decay, cracks, broken teeth and teeth that have had root canal treatment. Bridges are a great replacement option for one or two missing teeth. They cement onto adjacent teeth and have the fake tooth or teeth that rests on the gum tissue to fill the gap. Crowns and bridges both require 2 appointments with the first being getting the tooth ready for the crown or bridge and the second cementing the crown/bridge.
When starting a new denture you can expect at a minimum 5 appointments. A new denture typically takes 10-12 weeks from start to finish. Denture repairs take 1-2 weeks to finish.
When deciding on replacement options for multiple missing teeth partials are a great choice, we offer two types of partials. The first option is a flexible all acrylic based partial called a dura flex partial, these offer a flexible base with clasps that match the color of your gums. The second option is a cast metal partial that is more stable when missing back teeth. The metal partials have metal clasps that hook onto the teeth to hold it in place. With partial repairs we are able to add new teeth to them, fix broken teeth, add claps if needed and repair broken clasps. New partials take about 10- 12 weeks start to finish and only about 1-2 weeks to repair, these timelines can change depending on each case.
Fixed implant dentures are a non removeable option for a denture. These dentures are screwed into a series of implants that will not come out unless you receive help from your dentist. The implants will be placed by an Oral Surgeon or Implant Specialist using a surgical guide. We also offer removeable implant dentures, these are a more stable denture that snaps in and out and will need to be taken out at night and cleaned like your normal denture. These snap in dentures offer a more stable feel and don't require the adhesive that your typical denture requires. We are able to place these dentures here. These types of cases can take anywhere from 9-12 months start to finish.
